Choosing A Domain Name

Lesson 1

Domain Names

Choosing a domain name is a very straight forward process once you understand the basics.

Follow these simple rules and pick a suitable domain name.

There is no rocket science here, guys.

Again, don't overthink the process.

Follow these simple rules and also, an extra pro tip, do not add any special characters, symbols or weird letters.

Keep it simple!

The Problem

People get emotionally attached to domain names for no logical reason other than "Yeah, but I bought this domain name 5 years ago and I wanna use it".

Your emotions do not enter into it. Follow along and pick a domain that makes sense.

    Hi Phillip,
    I have a domain name for health/weightloss–
I also chose one for pregnancy related issues because that was my area of expertise during my years as a nurse. I have a friend I work with on the internet he says I should use my existing domain to brand my self and still sell health products. What is your opinion about this and my domains?

    • Philip Borrowman says:

Hard to say. The domain name does not matter as much as the niche choice. Watch the video, I would avoid abbreviations as most people will have no idea what “RN” mean, including myself.

  • Garry D says:

This is my favorite tool for brainstorming a domain name. Allows me to quickly see if it is available and try variations or alternatives.

  • Joshua H says:

    Hello, my friend,

I hope that your new year went well and started off great.

I selected a new domain and I am starting over from scratch.

I’m not sure if you remember but the last time we spoke I asked you if I could use my current website because it was a .net.

Well, I am taking your advice. I want a good .com domain name.

I purchased a domain name and I would like your opinion on it before I go any further.

I think it has some “catch” to it.

“Your laptop lifestyle journey starts here”

or some cool catchphrase like that…

I of course will be going into the affiliate marketing space and “niching down” to products and services.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again for all you do,

    Joshua Horton
